Minister Mona Keijzer explores innovation at Neolithic

Recently, Minister Mona Keijzer (Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning) visited BouwLab, where she received an exclusive glimpse into the innovative world of Neolithic. During her visit, she experienced the configure-to-order concept firsthand, configuring a slope staircase using the convenient Realizer and assembling her own staircase design. Making the visit even more special, she witnessed the live printing of her design in the lab.

Chris Aerts, co-founder of Neolithic, guided Minister Keijzer through the lab, showcasing the cutting-edge technologies Neolithic employs to provide customized solutions for modern construction projects. The minister was impressed by the capabilities of 3D printing in concrete and other materials, particularly in terms of sustainability and customization for the construction sector.

The visit highlights Neolithic’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainable development in construction.

The work visit took place at the invitation of the Innovation Hubs network, in which BouwLab R&Do collaborates with SPARK Campus (South Netherlands), Pioneering (East Netherlands), BuildinG (North Netherlands), and TKI Bouw en Techniek. Together, these hubs demonstrate how national housing policy can truly make an impact when translated regionally into concrete, implementable solutions. The construction sector operates regionally, but the challenges are national in scope.
